Pirates farm report for May 8, 2021
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 2-2) was postponed at Iowa (Cubs) due to inclement weather.

ALTOONA (Double-A , 2-3) defeated Bowie (Orioles), 8-4. C Arden Pabst went 2 for 3 with a solo homer and four RBIs. Will Gardner picked up the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings, and Hunter Stratton picked up his first save by pitching a clean final two innings. 3B Rodolfo Castro went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. CF Jonah Davis tripled, singled and scored a run. 1B Mason Martin, LF Canaan Smith-Njiba, DH Bligh Madris and SS Josh Bissonette had a single apiece.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 2-3) lost 4-2 to Hickory (Rangers). 2B Nick Gonzales, a 2020 first-round pick, went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles to raise his batting average to .467 on the young season. Starter Omar Cruz took the loss allowing four runs, all in the first inning. Cruz pitched two innings, allowed one hit, walked five and struck out four. Will Kobos, Colin Selby and Oliver Garcia combined to pitch seven scoreless innings of relief and Garcia yielded the lone hit by a reliever. SS Francisco Acuna homered.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 2-3) won 7-2 over Fort Myers (Twins). Jose Maldonado started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit with six strikeouts and no walks. Eddy Yean rebounded for a tough first outing, pitching two scoreless innings, and was credited with the win. Brayan Roman pitched 2⅓ innings of scoreless relief with four strikeouts to earn his first save. CF Jasiah Dixon, RF Hudson Head, C Endy Rodriguez and SS Norkis Marcus each singled twice. Rodriguez had two RBIs and is hitting .357 in the early going.
