Pirates farm report for May 7, 2023: Chris Owings' 4 hits, 3 RBIs lift Indy past Toledo

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 15-17) beat Toledo (Tigers), 9-5. SS Chris Owings (.273) was 4 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs. LF Ryan Vilade hit a solo homer. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.301) was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs. 3B Josh Bissonette (.246) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Eli Villalobos (1-0, 10.13) tossed a no-hit inning of relief with two walks and a strikeout to get the win. Starting LHP Kent Emanuel (9.88) allowed four runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 13-12) dropped a 4-1 decision to Richmond (Giants). DH Fabricio Macias (.292) was 2 for 4. 3B Drew Maggi (.186) had an RBI. RHP Kyle Nicolas (1-4, 5.74) allowed three runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in three innings and took the loss.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 16-11) edged Winston-Salem (White Sox), 8-7. LF Sammy Siani (.298) smacked a three-run homer. 2B Maikol Escotto was 2 for 4 with a solo home run. 3B Mike Jarvis (.228) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. CF Tres Gonzalez (.316) also knocked in two runs. RHP Brad Case (1-1, 11.57) earned the win after tossing an inning of relief, allowing one hit with one strikeout. Starting RHP Bubba Chandler (5.18) gave up four runs on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts in two innings.

RHP Yunior Thibo (1-1, 3.18) took the loss after allowing an unearned run on one hit with a walk and two strikeouts in one inning of relief. Starting RHP Derek Diamond (6.00) allowed six runs (4 earned) on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in three innings.
