Pirates farm report for May 31, 2024: Matt Gorski belts 10th homer in Indianapolis loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 24-29) lost 4-1 to Omaha (Royals) despite having an 8-5 advantage in hits. CF Matt Gorski (.268) went 2 for 3 with a double and his 10th home run. RHP Domingo German (0-2, 6.46) started and went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits with five walks and eight strikeouts. LHP Geronimo Franzua (5.08) pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings. RHP Ben Heller (5.19) pitched a scoreless ninth. RF Jack Suwinski (.250) went 1 for 4 with a strikeout. DH Henry Davis (.284) went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts. 1B Jake Lamb (.331) went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 16-33) gave up three runs in the ninth and two in the 10th and lost 8-6 to Portland (Red Sox). RHP Braxton Ashcraft (3.47) started and went six innings, allowing one run on three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. RHP Eddy Yean (3.10) came on and gave up two runs on four hits in two innings. RHP Justin Meis (8.42) got two outs and allowed three runs on three hits, including a home run. RHP JC Flowers allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits in 1⅓ innings to take the loss. 1B Joe Perez (.214) went 1 for 5 with a grand slam, his fourth homer of the season. C Carter Bins (.200) went 1 for 3 and also hit his fourth homer. CF Jase Bowen (.208) was 1 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 29-20) scored two in the top of the ninth but lost 3-2 to Asheville (Rockies). 3B Charles McAdoo (.335) went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. 2B Mitch Jebb (.200) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Patrick Reilly (2-4, 4.79) started and pitched five innings, allowing two runs on two hits, including a homer, with four walks and six strikeouts. LHP Jaden Woods (2.33) came on an threw a scoreless innings with two hits allowed and two strikeouts. RHP Ryan Harbin (3.60) worked the last two innings, allowing one run on two hits.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 21-27) lost 8-2 to Fort Myers (Twins) . RHP Carlson Reed (3-2, 2.50) started and was touched up for four runs, three earned, on two hits and five walks in four innings. He struck out five. RHP Danny Carlson (3.00) came on and gave up three runs, two earned, on two hits and two walks in an inning. RHP Landon Tomkins (3.10) pitched a scoreless eighth. RF Eddy Rodriguez (.258) went 2 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. C Omar Alfonzo (.259) went 1 for 4 with a pair of RBIs.
