Pirates farm report for May 3, 2024: Jake Lamb collects 2 more hits for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 15-13) was knocked around by Buffalo (Blue Jays), 10-4. RHP Wily Peralta (5.40) started and was mostly effective, giving up one run on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks. RHP JC Flowers (2-1, 6.59) came on and allowed three runs, two earned, on two hits and three walks in two innings to take the loss. Relievers RHP ben Heller (4.50), LHP Jose Hernandez (14.40) and RHP Carmen Mlodzisnki (7.20) were touched up for two runs apiece. 1B Jake Lamb (.394) went 2 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs. LF Gilberto Celestino (.267) went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, one RBI and two stolen bases. SS Nick Gonzales (.358) was 0 for 4 with a walk and two strikeouts.

Next: Saturday vs. Buffalo (Blue Jays), 6:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 5-20) saw its losing streak hit 14 games with a 2-0 setback against Harrisburg (Nationals). The Curve managed six hits. CF Matt Fraizer (.208) went 2 for 4 and RF Joe Perez (.292) went 2 for 3 with a double. RHP Po-Yu Chen (0-2, 6.30) started and went 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits and two walks. He fanned four. RHP Chris Gau finished out the game, throwing 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five.

Next: Saturday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 14-10) was roughed up by Winston-Salem (White Sox), 13-3. SS Termarr Johnson (.197) led off and went 2 for 5 with an RBI. DH Maikol Escotto (.304) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. RHP Wilber Dotel started and was tagged for eight runs on six hits, including two homers, in 3 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two.

Next: Saturday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 7-18), a day after throwing a one-hit shutout, pitched a four-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over Fort Myers (Twins). RHP Carlson Reed (1.31) started and went five innings, allowing three hits and four walks with three strikeouts. RHP Peyton Stumbo (2.51) allowed no hits and one walk with three strikeouts in two innings. LHp Magdiel Cotto worked the last two innings, giving up one hit and two walks with three strikeouts. RF Eddy Rodriguez (.350) went 3 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. DH Shalin Polanco (.155) went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
