Pirates farm report for May 29, 2022: Oneil Cruz, Mason Martin homer in Indy's loss
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 24-23) lost to St. Paul (Twins), 8-7, on a walk-off single. SS Oneil Cruz (.220) smacked his seventh home run, and 1B Mason Martin (.241) cracked his 11th homer. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.301) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. RF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.262) was 2 for 3 with two walks. 3B/SS Cole Tucker (.135) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Matt Eckelman (11.34) allowed two unearned runs on one hit in two innings of a no-decision. RHP Hunter Stratton (1-1, 3.80) took the loss after allowing one un-earned run on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk in 1 2/3 innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-23) dropped a 5-4 decision to Harrisburg (Nationals) on Jake Alu’s walk-off double that scored two runs. 3B Jared Triolo (.259) was 3 for 4 with two runs scored. 2B Nick Gonzales (.250) went 2 for 5 with an RBI and a double. SS Liover Peguero (.321), RF Lolo Sanchez (.267) and LF Andres Alvarez (.277) also knocked in runs. RHP Luis Ortiz (4.74) allowed two runs on three hits with six strikeouts in six innings of a no-decision. RHP Enmanuel Mejia (1-3, 5.29) took the loss after allowing the winning run in relief in the ninth inning.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 20-24) allowed six runs in the seventh inning and fell 8-4 to Asheville (Astros). LF Jack Herman (.226) was 2 for 4 with a two-run home run. RF Fabricio Macias (.214) also was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. LHP Nick Garcia (4.11) allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk in 4 1/3 innings of a no-decision. RHP Cameron Junker (4.60) took the loss after he allowed four runs on four hits and didn’t get an out in his relief appearance.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 20-25) won 4-2 over Fort Myers (Twins). CF Sergio Campana (.217) hit a two-run home run. RF Rodolfo Nolasco (.210) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Jake Sweeney (1-0, 4.13) allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk in five innings to earn the victory.
