Pirates farm report for May 26, 2021: RHP Jose Soriano knocked around in rehab start
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 11-8) lost 10-7 to Omaha (Royals). Ke’Bryan Hayes, making his fourth rehab appearance with the Indians while recovering from a wrist injury, went 2 for 4 with a walk, a double and three runs scored. He acted as designated hitter. LF Anthony Alford went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs. 3B Bligh Madris also had two hits and three RBIs. 3B Hunter Owen went 0 for 5 with four strikeouts. RHP Miguel Yajure was knocked around, allowing five runs on five hits in five innings, including a home run, three walks and six strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 11-7) beat Erie (Tigers), 3-2. DH Brendt Citta went 4 for 4, including the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning and a triple. He’s hiting .389 with a .949 OPS. 1B Mason Martin went 2 for 4, including the game-tying RBI double in the sixth. He’s hitting .266 with an .876 OPS. 2B Ji-hwan Bae singled and drove in a run. RHP Travis McGregor started and didn’t allow a hit in three scoreless innings. He struck out four. RHP Hunter Stratton threw two scoreless innings of relief and RHP Yerry De Los Santos pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 10-10) was battered by Wilmington (Nationals), 12-7. RHP Tajnah Thomas started and allowed three runs on three hits in 1.2 innings, walking four, and RHP Alexander Manasa came on in relief and threw gasoline on the fire, giving up eight runs in 2.1 innings. CF Matt Gorski went 2 for 5 with a double and a two-run home run, his fourth. 2B Aaron Shackelford also hit a home run, his fifth. He’s got an .877 OPS. RF Lolo Sanchez went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 11-9) beat Palm Beach (Cardinals) in a slugfest, 18-11. RHP Jose Soriano, a Rule V pick pitching on a rehab assignment, started and recorded only two outs. He gave up seven runs, six earned, on five hits, walking three. RHP Santiago Florez pitched five scoreless innings of relief, allowing no hits and striking out seven. SS Maikol Escotto went 2 for 3 with a grand slam. He’s hitting .346 with a .954 OPS. 3B Dariel Lopez hit a three-run home run, his second. RF Hudson Head went 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored. 1b Norkis Marcos went 3 for 6 with a double. C Eli Wilson went 2 for 4. He’s hitting .391 with a 1.114 OPS.
