Pirates farm report for May 25, 2021: Altoona's Roansy Contreras takes 1st loss
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 11-7) lost 3-1 to Omaha (Royals). RHP Chad Kuhl, out since April 18 with a shoulder injury, allowed one run on one hit, striking out four and walking two, in 3.1 innings in his second rehab start. 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes went 0 for 3 with a strikeout in his third rehab appearance. He played seven innings in the field. SS Kevin Kramer went 2 for 4 with a double. RF Dustin Fowler and DH Christian Bethancourt doubled. RHP Austin Davis and RHP Tyler Bashlor each threw an inning of scoreless relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 11-7) lost 5-1 to Erie (Tigers). After three scoreless outings, RHP Roansy Contreras was touched up for five earned runs on four hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out six and gave up a two-run home run. LHP Cam Vieaux, RHP John O’Reilly and RHP Shea Murray combined to pitch five innings of scoreless relief. RF Cal Mitchell hit his third home run. He’s hitting .255 with an .806 OPS. SS Oneil Cruz went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts to drop his average to .226. He stole a base.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 10-9) blanked Wilmington (Nationals), 3-0. RHP Quinn Priester pitched five scoreless innings, allowing four hits, walking one and fanning three. RHP Colin Selby and RHP Austin Roberts each pitched two innings of hitless relief. Roberts struck out four. LF Matthew Fraizer hit a solo home run, his second. He’s hitting ,290 with a .816 OPS. CF Matt Gorski went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. 3B Jared Triolo and C Grant Koch singled and drove in a run.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 10-9) routed Palm Beach (Cardinals), 12-2. LF Hudson Head went 2 for 4 with a double and his second home run. 2B Jase Bowen went 3 for 5 with a two-run home run and four RBIs.1B Alexander Mojica went 2 for 3 and hit his third home run. CF Sergio Campana doubled twice. RHP Luis Ortiz started and went four innings, allowing two runs, none earned, on four hits. He fanned one, RHP Jared Jones threw three scoreless innings of relief. RHP Parker Brahms allowed no hits in two scoreless innings, striking out three.
