Pirates farm report for May 24, 2024: Righty Patrick Reilly throws 5 no-hit innings for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 22-24) managed four hits in a 12-0 blowout loss to Toledo (Tigers). DH Henry Davis (.315) went 1 for 4 with a double. RF Jake Lamb (.341) also went 1 for 4. CF Gilberto Celestino (.283) went 2 for 3. Indianapolis hitters struck out 10 times and walked once. RHP Daulton Jeffries (0-1, 9.00) started and gave up three runs on six hits and two walks in three innings. RHP Wily Peralta (5.72) was touched up for four runs on five hits in 2⅓ innings. RHP Connor Sadzeck (4.76) allowed five runs, two earned, on five hits in 1⅔ innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 13-30) ran its winning streak to three with an 8-3 victory over Erie (Tigers). 1B Seth Beer (.309) went 2 for 4 and hit his third homer, scoring twice and driving in three. C Carter Bins (.194) also went 2 for 4 with his third homer. LF Connor Scott (.196) went 2 for 5 with an RBI. SS Tsung Che-Cheng (.222) went 1 for 3 with a walk, run scored and RBI. RHP Thomas Harrington (1.54) started and went 4⅔ innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits. He walked none and struck out three. RHP Eddy Yean (4-1, 2.88) came on and pitched 2⅔ scoreless innings, striking out three, to pick up the win. RHP Justin Meis (7.83) worked two scoreless to earn his first save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 25-18) blanked Greenville (Red Sox), 5-0, as three pitchers combined on a one-hit shutout. RHP Patrick Reilly (2-3, 4.95) started and didn’t allow a hit in five innings. He walked three and struck out seven. RHP Ryan Harbin allowed one hit and one walk in two innings, striking out three. RHP Elijah Birdsong (2.35) pitched the last two innings, not allowing a hit. 1B Maikol Escotto (.279) went 1 for 4 with his third homer. C Shawn Ross (.136) went 1 for 2 with a two-run homer, his sixth. DH Nick Cimillo (.328) went 2 for 4 with his fifth homer. SS Termarr Johnson (.203) went 1 for 3 with a walk and two stolen bases, running his season total to six.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 10-23) got a three-run homer from 1B Esmerlyn Valdez (.228) in the bottom of the eighth to beat Dunedin (Blue Jays), 4-3. It was the fifth homer of the season for Valdez. CF Shalin Polanco (.153) went 2 for 4 with his fourth homer. C Omar Alfonzo (.270) went 2 for 4 with a run scored. LHP Michael Kennedy (3.83) started and allowed three runs on five hits in six innings. He walked none and struck out six. RHP Garrett McMillan (1-2, 3.12) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and fanning two, to pick up the win. RHP Landon Tomkins (3.26) worked a scoreless ninth for his sixth save.
