Pirates farm report for May 23, 2024: Henry Davis blasts 2 more homers for Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 22-23) hit six home runs on a 10-8 win over Toledo (Tigers). C Henry Davis went 3 for 6 with two solo shots. He has hit six homers in 14 games since being assigned to Triple-A May 3. CF Matt Gorski (.282) went 2 for 5 with his seventh homer, a two-run shot. 3B Malcom Nunez (.270) went 2 for 4 with his sixth homer. 2B Andres Alvarez (.255) went 2 for 3 with his second. LF Gilberto Celestino (.274) was 1 for 4 with his first. LHP Michael Plassmeyer (6.39) started and went 2 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits. RHP Chris Gau (2-0, 4.26) went 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits to earn the win. He struck out five. RHP Isaac Mattson (3.52) worked the last 2 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on two hits, to pick up his first save. He also fanned five.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 12-30) hit five home runs in an 11-5 win over Erie (Tigers). 2B Tsung Che-Cheng (.220) went 2 for 5 and hit his fifth, a two-run shot, and stole his seventh base. 1B Joe Perez (.237) went 3 for 5 with a double and his third homer. LF Dustin Peterson (.176) went 3 for 5 and hit a three-run homer, his first. RF Sammy Siani (.170) went 2 for 4 and hit his first. C Carter Bins (.148) was 1 for 5 with his second. RHP Drake Fellows (1-0, 1.69) started and went five innings, allowing one one on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts. RHP JC Flowers (0.00), RHP Kade McClure (0.00) and RHP Jack Carey (7.36) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 24-18) beat Greenville (Red Sox), 5-3. LF Hudson Head (.226) went 1 for 3 with his sixth homer, a two-run shot. 3B Charles McAdoo (.313) went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. SS Jack Brannigan (.222) went 1 for 3 with a walk, two runs scored and an eighth stolen base. 2B Termarr Johnson (.200) went 1 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. LHP Hunter Barco (1-1, 2.41) started and allowed two runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. LHP Jaden Woods (2.81) came on and pitched two scoreless, giving up one hit and one walk and striking out four. LHP Luis Peralta (0.50) pitched a scoreless eighth and RHP Darvin Garcia (4.19) gave up a run on two hits to record his second save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 19-23) doubled up Dunedin (Blue Jays), 6-3. RHP Carlson Reed (2.02) started and gave up three runs, two earned, on three hits and three walks in four innings. He fanned six. Four relievers combined to throw five scoreless innings from there. LHP Yoldin De La Paz (5-0, 1.19) gave up one hit and one walk in 2 1/3 innings to earn the win. RHP Peyton Stumbo (3.54) got the last out in the ninth for his first save. LHP Magdiel Cotto (1.85) didn’t give up a hit in 1 2/3 innings, striking out four. RHP Tyler Kennedy (9.26) threw three pitches and recorded two outs when Dunedin’s Yhoangel Aponte flew out to left and Tucker Toman was thrown out at second on the play. CF Shalin Polanco (.143) went 1 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. DH Eddy Rodriguez (.267) and LF Solomon Maguire (.231) each went 1 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.
