Pirates farm report for June 9, 2022: Quinn Priester, 3 relievers throw no-hitter for Bradenton

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 28-27) stole one against Columbus (Guardians), 6-5. After Indianapolis allowed Columbus to tie the score in the top of the ninth, CF Jared Oliva (.220) doubled in the bottom of the inning, went to second on a SS Oneil Cruz (.225) ground out and stole home to give Indianapolis the victory. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.303) continued to stay hot with an RBI double on a 2-for-4 night. Cruz hit a solo home run and went 1 for 4. RHP Bryse Wilson (3.32) went six innings and allowed one run on one hit and struck out three. RHP Austin Brice (2.78) went 1.1 innings and gave up a run on a hit and struck out one to get the win.

Next: Friday vs Columbus (Guardians), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 26-28) lost a nail-biter to Reading (Phillies), 1-0. Reliever RHP J.C. Flowers (3.51) threw a wild pitch with runners on first and third to give Reading the walk-off win. Flowers got the loss by going 1.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits in relief of RHP Travis MacGregor (3.54), who went five innings and allowed no runs on two hits and struck out eight. 2B Liover Peguero (.291) doubled and RF Matt Gorski (.271) singled to give the Curve their only two hits of the evening. RHP Noe Toribio (1.85) started and went two innings and allowed no runs or hits and struck out one.

Next: Friday at Reading (Phillies), 7:00 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 23-30) won a wild one against Winston-Salem (White-Sox) 5-4 in 10 innings. RHP Wandi Montout (3.70) came on with two on and two out in the bottom of the ninth and allowed a game-tying three-run home run. All the runs were charged to RHP Ricky DeVito (4.05). Then SS Dariel Lopez (.206) gifted Montout the win. Lopez didn’t do much with the bat, going 0 for 5, but was in the right place at the right time when he scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th to give the Grasshoppers the win. RHP Jared Jones started and went 4.1 innings and allowed one run on seven hits while striking out three. RF Fabricio Macias (.282) went 2 for 4 with a sacrifice fly in the third and an RBI single in the fifth. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.344) went 1 for 3.

Next: Friday at Winston-Salem (White-Sox), 7:00 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 24-30) used four pitchers for a combined no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Clearwater (Phillies). RHP Quinn Priester (0.00) was sharp in his first start of the year coming off an oblique injury, going three innings and striking out one. LHP Anthony Solometo (0.82) went four innings and struck out three to earn the win. LHP Jake Sweeney (4.15) and RHP Yunior Thibo (3.60) each went an inning and walked one. SS Norkis Marcos (.200) went 1 for 3 with a two-run triple in the fifth and scored on a balk. 2B Mike Jarvis went 2 for 4 and C Henry Davis was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk in a rehab start (wrist).
