Pirates farm report for June 4, 2024: Altoona gives Bubba Chandler no run support
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 24-32) was clobbered by Columbus (Guardians), 15-4. Three Indianapolis pitchers – LHP Michael Plassmeyer (1-5, 9.00), RHP Isaac Mattson (5.40) and RHP Wily Peralta (6.61) – each gave up four runs. Peralta recorded only one out. C Jason Delay (.313) went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. 2B Mike Jarvis (.214) went 2 for 3 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. 1B Jake Lamb (.313) went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts. CF Matt Gorski (.268) went 0 for 4 with a pair of Ks.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 16-35) lost 1-0 to Richmond (Giants). SP Bubba Chandler (4.91) gave up an unearned run over five innings and struck out five, but did not receive any run support. The Curve managed only five hits and one extra-base hit, a double by C Carter Bins (.234). Bins also singled. Tyler Samaniego (13.50) pitched a scoreless inning of relief. J.C. Flowers (3.86) had two innings of scoreless relief. CF Jase Bowen (.220), 3B Joe Perez (.221) and RF Sammy Siani (.231) singled once each.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 30-21) won, 5-4, in 10 innings over Jersey Shore (Phillies) on a walk-off single by CF Lonnie White Jr. (.169). White also hit his fourth double. 1B Nick Cimillo (.333) had a solo homer in the eighth inning that tied the game. SS Jack Brannigan (.221) hit his eighth double and had an RBI single. RF Joshua Palacios, who is on a rehab assignment, had a double, and 2B Termarr Johnson (.202) singled. SP Derek Diamond (2.56) allowed one run over five innings with three strikeouts in a no-decision. RP Elijah Birdsong (2.31) pitched two scoreless frames to earn his second win.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 22-30) earned a 6-4 victory over Clearwater (Phillies). 1B Axiel Plaz (.231) had an inside-the-park homer in the sixth, which gave the Marauders a 5-4 lead, and added an RBI single. CF Shalin Polanco (.166) and LF Braylon Bishop (.255) hit a solo homer each. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.238) went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and a run scored. SP Hung-Leng Chang (3.66) allowed four runs, three earned, over 5⅓ innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision. Hunter Furtado (6.00) picked up the win in relief, pitching 1⅔ innings of scoreless relief. Magdiel Cotto (1.69) pitched a clean eighth inning and Landon Tomkins (2.95) struck out the side in the ninth to get his seventh save.
