Pirates farm report for June 22, 2024: Martin Perez allows 5 hits, earned run in rehab outing
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 32-40) dropped a 3-2 decision to Iowa (Cubs). 3B Malcom Nunez (.252) hit a two-run home run for the Indians’ lone runs. He was 2 for 4. DH Ji Hwan Bae (.362) was 2 for 4. 2B Andres Alvarez (.261) was 1 for 3. C Joey Bart (.500) was 0 for 1 in his rehab assignment. RF Matt Gorski (.255) doubled. In his rehab outing, LHP Martin Perez (1.80) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits with four strikeouts in five innings. LHP Michael Plassmeyer (1-7, 8.51) took the loss after giving up a run on one hit with three strikeouts in two innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 28-40) beat Bowie (Orioles), 7-6, in 11 innings. 1B Joe Perez (.231) singled home C Wyatt Hendrie (.254) with two outs in the top of the 11th for the winning run. Perez was 2 for 6. Hendrie also homered. 3B Charles McAdoo (.500), who was promoted Friday, was 2 for 4 with a two-run home run. CF Sammy Siani (.250) was 2 for 5 with an RBI. RHP Thomas Harrington (3.11) allowed two runs on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts in six innings. RHP Jack Carey (3-0, 3.75) picked up the win after giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits in 2 2/3 innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 41-26) edged Hudson Valley (Yankees), 2-1, in 11 innings. SS Jack Brannigan (.222) singled home DH Termarr Johnson (.222) in the bottom of the 11th for the victory. Brannigan was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Johnson was 1 for 4. C Geovanny Planchart (.250) was 2 for 4. LF Luke Brown (.174) was 1 for 4 with a run scored. LHP Luis Peralta (4-0, 0.60) picked up the win with two no-hit innings of relief with a walk and three strikeouts.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 30-38) fell to Lakeland (Tigers), 9-3. CF Solomon Maguire (.167) hit a three-run homer, his fifth of the season. LF Enmanuel Terrero (.122) and 3B Javier Rivas (.230) each went 2 for 4. LHP Connor Oliver (0-3, 5.54) allowed six runs on nine hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
