Pirates farm report for June 21, 2024: Bubba Chandler's 10 strikeouts carry Curve to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 32-39) topple Iowa (Cubs), 5-2. DH Joey Bart (.667), on a rehab assignment, hit a three-run double as part of a five-run seventh inning. He was 2 for 3. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.356) was 0 for 3. RF Josh Palacios was 2 for 4 with an RBI. C Dylan Shockley (.148) was 1 for 4 with an RBI and run scored. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2-2, 3.96) and RHP Ryder Ryan (3.57) threw four shutout innings of relief. Dombkowski earned the win and Ryan the save. RHP Luis Cessa (3.99) allowed two runs on three hits with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 27-40) shut out Bowie (Orioles), 5-0. RHP Bubba Chandler (3-5, 4.37) gave up two hits in seven scoreless innings and struck out a career-high 10 batters to earn the win. LHP Tyler Samaniego (4.35) allowed one hit and two walks in two innings of relief. DH Yoyner Fajardo (.327) and RF Jase Bowen (.230) each picked up two hits in the win. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.222), C Carter Bins (.185) and Bowen all had RBIs.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 40-26) pounded Hudson Valley (Yankees), 10-3. 2B Termarr Johnson (.221) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs, including his seventh homer of the season. C Shawn Ross (.200) was 2 for 4 and hit a grand slam. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.187) was 2 for 2 with three walks and a run scored. 1B Josiah Sightler (.177) went 2 for 5 with two RBIs. 3B Kalae Harrison (.267) was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. RHP Derek Diamond (4-1, 4.10) allowed three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in five innings to pick up the win.
