Pirates farm report for June 21, 2022: VanMeter, Newman, Tsutsugo begin rehab stints
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 33-32) scored five runs in the seventh inning to beat Memphis (Cardinals), 7-4. Three players started rehab assignments. 2B Josh VanMeter (finger) went 1 for 2 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI. SS Kevin Newman (groin) went 1 for 2 with a double. 1B Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) was 0 for 1 with a walk. LF Ji-hwan Bae (.304) went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. RHP Bryse Wilson (3-0, 3.08) started and went 7.1 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 31-33) smacked New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 7-1. 3B Jared Triolo (.269) went 1 for 2 with three walks and a two-run homer, his second. SS Liover Peguero (.294) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. DH Blake Sabol (.276) went 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI. CF Matt Gorski (.284) was 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. RHP Jeffrey Passantino (0.00) started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing three hits. RHP Austin Roberts (3-1, 5.87) worked two perfect innings to earn the win. LHP Tyler Samaniego (5.19) also threw two perfect innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 26-37) gave up seven runs in the top of the 10th and lost 12-6 to Asheville (Astros). RHP Wandi Montout (3-4, 7.00) started the 10th and faced three batters, allowing four runs, three earned, on a hit and a walk without recording an out. RHP Garrett Leonard came on and gave up three more runs on two hits and two walks. RHP Jared Jones (5.24) started and went four innings, giving up three runs on six hits with four walks and eight strikeouts. 3B Dariel Lopez (.242) went 2 for 5 with a homer, his eighth. C Endy Rodriguez (.256) went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. DH Yoyner Fajardo (.287), RF Fabricio Macias (.275) and SS Francisco Acuna (.267) each had two hits.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 28-35) built a 5-1 lead and held off Dunedin (Blue Jays), 5-4. RHP Valentin Linarez (1-5, 5.14) started and went five innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits with four strikeouts. 1B Brenden Dixon (.220) went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, his fifth. 2B Jase Bowen (.273) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.
