Pirates farm report for June 18, 2024: Shalin Polanco's walk-off grand slam lifts Bradenton to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 30-38) defeated Iowa (Cubs), 4-2. RF Matt Gorski (.259) hit a solo homer. SS/2B Alika Williams (.273) was 3 for 5 with an RBI. 2B/SS Liover Peguero (.272) was 4 for 4. LF Matt Fraizer (.256) was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored. 3B Andres Alvarez (.260) doubled in a run. RHP Domingo German (1-4, 6.16) allowed two runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in six innings to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 24-40) dropped a 3-2 decision to Bowie (Orioles). 2B Kervin Pichardo (.247) singed and scored. 1B Joe Perez (.222) hit a sacrifice fly. CF Jase Bowen (.227) was 1 for 4. LF Tres Gonzalez (.216) doubled for the only other hit for the Curve. RHP Po-Yu Chen (1-6, 4.64) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks in six innings and took the loss.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 37-26) blanked Hudson Valley (Yankees), 2-0. RHP Patrick Reilly (3-4, 3.81) allowed three hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts in six innings to earn the victory. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith (0.00) allowed one hit in two innings of relief, and LHP Luis Peralta (0.64) picked up the save after giving up one hit with one walk and two strikeouts in one inning. LF Hudson Head (.230) hit a two-run home run, his eighth of the season. 3B Jack Brannigan (.220) was 1 for 2. 2B Mitch Jebb (.202) and C Shawn Ross (.195) also had singles.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 29-35) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 6-5, in 10 innings. CF Shalin Polanco (.166) smacked a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning to seal the win. DH Esmerlyn Valdez (.232) also homered. 1B Omar Alfonzo (.267) was 3 for 5. LHP Magdiel Cotto (4-3, 2.35) picked up the win after allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits with one walk in an inning of relief. RHP Antwone Kelly (3.81) started and allowed four hits with a walk and five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of a no-decision.
