Pirates farm report for June 18, 2021: Greensboro's Aaron Shackelford hits 11th HR
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 21-18) was routed 10-1 by Memphis (Cardinals), managing just four hits. LF Anthony Alford, hitting in the leadoff spot, had two of them, going 2 for 4 with a double. C Jason Delay went 1 for 2 with a solo home run, his second. RHP Max Kranick started and was tagged for five runs on eight hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked two. RHP Matt Eckelman gave up five runs, including a pair of home runs, in 1.1 innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 24-15) gave up two runs in the eighth and lost 4-2 to Erie (Tigers). LHP Oddy Nunez took the loss, giving up a two-run home run to top prospect Spencer Torkelson. LHP Trey McGeough started and gave up two runs on six hits in 5⅔ innings, fanning five. SS Oneil Cruz went 2 for 4 to up his average to .298. LF Canaan Smith-Njigba also went 2 for 4 and stole his eighth base. CF Jonah Davis went 1 for 3 with his fourth home run.

GREENSBORO (High A, 22-18) scored four runs in the first and beat Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6-2. 2B Aaron Shackelford went 3 for 3 a single, a triple, his 11th home run and a walk. RF Matt Gorski went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. LF Lolo Sanchez went 1 for 5 with his ninth stolen base. LHP Omar Cruz started and went six innings, improving to 3-3 with a 3.45 ERA. He allowed one run on two hits and fanned five.

BRADENTON (Low A, 26-14) swept a doubleheader from Tampa (Yankees). 1B Endy Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs in the opener, an 8-2 Marauders win. SS Maikol Escotto went 2 for 3 and drove in a pair. RHP Eddy Yean pitched three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing two hits and fanning four, to improve to 2-1. RHP Enmanuel Mejia pitched 2⅓ scoreless innings to earn the win in the second game, a 3-1 Bradenton victory. He allowed two hits and whiffed four. Mejia is 3-0 and hasn’t allowed an earned run in 9⅔ innings. RHP Logan Hofmann started and allowed one run on four hits in 4⅔ innings, striking out four. Escotto went 2 for 2 and hit his second home run. He’s hitting .311. C Eli Wilson went 2 for 3. He’s hitting .370 with a 1.083 OPS.
