Pirates farm report for June 15, 2024: Matt Gorski, Joshua Palacios homer in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 29-37) handled Jacksonville (Marlins), 6-2. CF Matt Gorski (.262) went 2 for 4 with double and his 13th home run. LF Joshua Palacios (.238) went 2 for 5 with a double and his first Triple-A homer of the season. SS Andres Alvarez (.267) went 4 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Luis Cessa (4.04) started and allowed two runs on three hits in three innings. RHO Isaac Mattson (1-1, 3.80) came on and threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and stiking out five, to earn the win. LHP Brady Feigl (3.12) and RHP Brent Honeywell (4.83) each pitched a scoreless inning,

ALTOONA (Double-A, 23-39) scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Erie (Tigers), 11-8. In the ninth, DH Yoyner Fajardo (.296) hit an RBI single to tie the score and 3B Brendan Dixon (.224) belted a three-run, walk-off homer, his third. CF Jase Bowen (.227) went 1 for 5 with a two-run homer, his third. C Carter Bins (.214) went 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored, including a steal of home. Fajardo went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. 2B Kervin Pichardo (.245) went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. LF Sammy Siani (.237) went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. RHP Bubba Chandler (5.13) started and gave up five runs on six hits, incuding a homer, in 3⅔ innings. He walked one and struck out seven. RHP Grant Ford (1-1, 6.35) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 35-26) lost 6-3 to Winston-Salem (White Sox). 2B Termarr Johnson (.218) went 1 for 3 with a run scored and his 10th stolen base. 1B Nick Cimillo (.318) went 1 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. RHP Derek Diamond (3.93) started and gave up three runs on six hits in four innings. RHP Brandan Bidois (4.57) and LHP Cy Nielson (1.80) combined to pitch a scoreless fifth and sixth. RHP Ryan Harbin (0-1, 7.45) gave up two runs, on earned, on three hits, including a home run, in two innings to take the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 27-35) beat Dunedin (Blue Jays), 4-1. C Omar Alfonzo (.254) went 2 for 4 with his fourth home run. DH Esmerlyn Valdez (.236) went 1 for 5 with a two-run homer, his eighth. 3B Javier Rivas (.221) went 3 for 4. RHP Khristian Curtis (2-3, 4.01) started and pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk. He struck out nine. RHP Peyton Stumbo (3.68) pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save.
