Pirates farm report for July 9, 2022: Mason Martin hits 14th homer for Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 39-42) was hammered 10-1 by Iowa (Cubs). RHP Osvaldo Bido (1-5, 5.16) started and lasted 1.1 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits. RHP Eric Hanhold (4.97) allowed four runs on five hits in 1.1 innings as Iowa pulled away with four runs in the ninth. 1B Mason Martin (.204) went 1 for 2 with a walk and his 14th home run. CF Jake Marisnick (thumb), on a rehab assignment, went 2 for 3.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 40-40) lost 7-3 to Akron (Guardians). DH Blake Sabol (.255) and 2B Aaron Shackelford (.240) each went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. SS Liover Peguero (.277) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. RHP Luis Ortiz (3-5, 4.99) started and pitched six innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts. RHP Enmanuel Mejia (5.57) allowed three runs on four hits in two innings of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 34-45) was handled by Greenville (Red Sox), 7-1. SS Dariel Lopez (.273) went 3 for 4, recording three of the Grasshoppers’ five hits. RF Hudson Head (.224) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. LF Luke Brown (.182) went 1 for 3 with a double. RHP Justin Meis (1-2, 6.20) of Bethel Park started and went 4.2 innings, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts. RHP Eddy Yean (6.88) gave up one run on one hit with three strikeouts in 2.1 innings of relief.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 38-41) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 7-6, in 10 innings. DH Rodolfo Nolasco (.229) went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his ninth, and two walks. 2B Maikol Escotto (.320) went 1 for 5 with his first home run. CF Jase Bowen (.271) went 2 for 4 with a double. RHP Dante Mendoza (5-2, 1.23) gave up an unearned run in the ninth but earned the win when SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.248) stole third base and scored on a throwing error in the 10th. RHP Carlos Campos (0.00) pitched a scoreless 10th for his second save.
