Pirates farm report for July 7, 2021: Michael Burrows fans 10 in Greensboro win
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 27-28) was shut out for the second straight game, losing 2-0 to Columbus (Indians) in a game shortened to eight innings by rain. RHP James Marvel started and allowed two runs on seven hits in 6.1 innings. He fell to 3-2. RHP Nick Mears threw 1.2 innings of hitless relief. Indianapolis managed four hits. 2B Ethan Paul went 2 for 3. 1B Will Craig and C Taylor Davis went 1 for 3.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 30-23) and Akron (Indians) were rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Friday.

GREENSBORO (High A, 33-22) beat Asheville (Astros), 5-2. RHP Michael Burrows started and went 5.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out 10. He’s 2-2 with a 2.30 ERA. RHP Colin Selby pitched two scoreless innings for his first save. SS Liover Peguero went 1 for 3 with his sixth home run. CF Matthew Fraizer went 2 for 4 with his 14th home run and a triple. DH Blake Sabol went 1 for 2 with a walk and his first home run.

BRADENTON (Low A, 35-19) scored twice in the seventh and topped Clearwater (Phillies), 3-2. C Endy Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. SS Maikol Escotto also went 3 for 5. CF Hudson Head went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. 1B Ernny Ordonez went 2 for 4 with a double. RHP Luis Ortiz started and went six innings, allowing one run on six hits. RHP Cameron Junker pitched two hitless innings for his first save.
