Pirates farm report for July 3, 2024: Bubba Chandler allows 2 hits with 9 strikeouts in Curve win

ALTOONA (Double-A, 31-47) shut out Harrisburg (Nationals), 3-0. RHP Bubba Chandler (5-5, 3.65) threw a career-long 7 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits with seven strikeouts to earn the win. He got 11 straight outs at one point. He threw 64 of his 97 pitches for strikes. RHP Jack Carey (3.33) got the final four outs to secure his sixth save. CF Tres Gonzalez (.200) had an RBI bunt. 2B/1B Jackson Glenn (.178) had an RBI single. 1B Carter Bins (.223) had two hits, including a double. LF Sammy Siani (.241) hit a triple.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 49-28) edged Aberdeen (Orioles), 6-5, in 10 innings. In the top of the 10th inning, 3B Jack Brannigan (.217) bunted, and SS Termarr Johnson (.232) came around to score on a throwing error. 1B Josiah Sightler (.183) then had an RBI walk. Johnson was 1 for 3 with two runs scored. 2B Mitch Jebb (.223) was 1 for 2 with three walks and three runs scored. DH Nick Cimillo (.278) was 1 for 3 with an RBI. CF Hudson Head (.217) also had an RBI. RHP Derek Diamond (4.15) started and allowed four runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings. RHP Darvin Garcia (2-2, 4.33) earned the win after giving up two hits with a walk and strikeout in two scoreless innings of relief.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 35-43) topped Fort Myers (Twins), 10-5. LF Miguel Sosa (.200) hit a two-run homer. 1B Axiel Plaz (.217) was 2 for 5 with a solo homer. 3B Jeral Toledo (.225) was 3 for 4 with three RBIs. 2B Wesley Zapata (.179) was 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. DH Eddy Rodriguez (.213) was 2 for 3 with an RBI. CF Solomon Maguire (.192) was 2 for 5. RHP Hung-Leng Chang (4-5, 4.11) allowed four runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings and earned the win.
