Pirates farm report for July 3, 2019
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 42-41) lost 7-6 to Louisville (Reds). RF Trayvon Robinson (.338) was 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs and a run. CF Jason Martin (.244) had two hits, an RBI and a run. LF Darnell Sweeney (.271) hit an eighth-inning, two-run double to cut the Indians’ deficit to one. RHP Yefry Ramirez (1-4, 5.06) took the loss after giving up five runs on six hits. He struck out seven and walked four in 3 1/3 innings of relief for RHP Dario Agrazal (5-4, 4.25). Agrazal lasted one inning, allowing two runs on two hits before being pulled.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 44-38) won 6-4 over Akron (Indians). The Curve trailed 4-2 after six innings before scoring four times in the eighth inning. RF Bligh Madris (.254) and LF Chris Sharpe (.216) homered to bookend the inning, and DH Robbie Glendinning (.321) hit a RBI double in between. Madris hit a two-run shot, and Sharpe’s homer was a solo. RHP Joel Cesar (2-2, 3.92) got the victory after throwing two scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout and two hits allowed. RHP Pedro Vasquez (6-1, 2.30 with Altoona) gave up four runs in six innings with four strikeouts, a walk and seven hits in a no-decision. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-2, 3.94) recorded his 15th save.

BRADENTON (High-A, 45-37) lost 7-2 to Jupiter (Marlins). The Marauders scored both runs in the first inning. SS Oneil Cruz (.255) hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first for Bradenton’s only scoring. RHP Hunter Stratton (5-3, 4.78) took the loss after giving up six runs in 4 1/3 innings with five strikeouts, a walk and seven hits.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 51-32) lost to Hagerstown (Nationals), 3-2, in 11 innings. The Grasshoppers tied the score 2-2 in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by RF Jack Herman (.250). RHP John O’Reilly (0-2, 2.22) took the loss, surrendering the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. RHP Colin Selby (3-2, 3.27) started and went five innings, giving up one earned run on five hits, striking out three and walking two. 3B Michael Gretler (.230) hit his second homer of the season in the second inning.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 10-9) won 2-1 over Auburn (Nationals). C Ryan Haug (.276) drove in the go-ahead run on a seventh-inning with a single. RHP Cameron Junker (2-0, 1.29) picked up the win after throwing two scoreless innings of relief, striking out two and allowing one hit. RHP Jesus Valles (0-0, 5.09) threw the first five innings in a no-decision with a strikeout and a run on five hits. CF Blake Sabol (.195) was 2 for 4 with a triple and a run. RHP Mike LoPresti (0-0, 0.00) earned his second save after throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and two hits.
