Pirates farm report for July 28, 2024: Henry Davis, Malcom Nunez each homer in 9-run inning for Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 46-52) scored all nine runs in the sixth inning and edged Iowa (Cubs), 9-8. DH Henry Davis (.317) was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, including a solo homer. 3B Malcom Nunez (.263) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, a solo home run and two runs scored. SS Liover Peguero (.249) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. 2B Andres Alvarez (.266) was 1 for 5 with a three-run double. C Jason Delay (.328) was 2 for 5. RHP Domingo German (6-4, 5.16) allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 40-56) fell 5-2 to Erie (Tigers). SS Kervin Pichardo (.261) smacked his eighth homer of the season, a two-run shot that scored 1B Nick Cimillo. CF Tres Gonzalez (.226) and 2B Jackson Glenn (.173) had the only other hits. LHP Hunter Barco (0-1) took the loss after allowing one run on one hit with a strikeout in one inning. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (4.31) allowed four runs on two hits with three walks and four strikeouts in three innings of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 57-38) was shutout 7-0 by Asheville (Astros). 2B Mitch Jebb (.243), CF Hudson Head (.230), 3B Kalae Harrison (.188) and LF Luke Brown (.194) had hits. SS Termarr Johnson (.243) walked three times. RHP Patrick Reilly (3.38) tossed four scoreless innings, allowing two hits with six strikeouts in a no-decision. RHP Jaycob Deese (2-4, 7.12) took the loss after giving up four runs on three hits with a walk in two innings of relief.

C Omar Alfonzo (.263) was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, including a two-run homer. CF Enmanuel Terrero (.159) smacked a solo home run. 3B Garret Forrester (.273) was 2 for 3. RHP Garrett McMillan (2.18) worked four scoreless innings, allowing one hit with six strikeouts. RHP Landon Tomkins (2-0, 3.77) earned the win after allowing two runs on five hits with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
