Pirates farm report for July 25, 2024: Mike Burrows tosses four innings in Triple-A rehab outing

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 43-52) took down Iowa (Cubs), 7-2. In his first Triple-A rehab outing after Tommy John surgery, RHP Mike Burrows (2.25) allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts in four innings of a no-decision. RHP Aaron Shortridge (1-0, 1.13) picked up the win in relief after giving up one unearned run on one hit with a walk and six strikeouts in four innings. SS Alika Williams (.309) was 3 for 3 with a double and two walks. 3B Malcom Nunez (.257) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. C Henry Davis (.296) was 1 for 5 with an RBI, his 25th of the season. 1B Jake Lamb (.279) was 1 for 2 with three RBIs. RF Matt Gorski (.248) was 2 for 3.

Next: Friday at Iowa (Cubs), 8:08 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-54) was edged by Erie (Tigers), 5-4, in 10 innings for a sixth straight loss. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3.50) allowed one run on five hits with three strikeouts in seven innings. 3B Charles McAdoo (.280) had an RBI in the 10th. RHP Eddy Yean (5-4, 3.12) took the loss after allowing a walk-off, two-run single. CF Sammy Siani (.235) had a sacrifice fly. DH Brenden Dixon (.197) and 2B Jackson Glenn (.171) added RBI singles. RF Jase Bowen (.239) doubled. LF Tres Gonzalez (.225) and 1B Nick Cimillo (.174) each went 2 for 4.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 57-35) smashed Asheville (Astros), 12-3. SS Jack Brannigan (.227) was 3 for 4 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer and a double. 2B Mitch Jebb (.235) was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. 3B Maikol Escotto (.203) was 2 for 4 and hit a three-run home run. 1B Josiah Sightler (.205) smacked a two-run homer. LHP Dominic Perachi (6-2, 1.97) earned the victory after tossing six scoreless innings, allowing one hit with 11 strikeouts.

Next: Friday vs. Asheville (Astros), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 39-54) dropped a 5-3 decision to Lakeland (Tigers). LF Enmanuel Terrero (.151) was 2 for 3 with a solo homer. C Omar Alfonzo (.260) knocked in a run. CF Braylon Bishop (.222) and 2B Keiner Delgado (.236) each had two hits. DH Justin Miknis (.169) was 1 for 2 with an RBI. RHP Carlson Reed (2.43) started and allowed two unearned runs on two hits with two walks and nine strikeouts in five innings. RHP Luigi Hernandez (2-2, 7.43) took the loss after giving up three runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of relief.
