Pirates farm report for July 23, 2024: Seth Beer’s 3 homers, 5 RBIs lift Indy to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 41-52) pounded Iowa (Cubs), 13-6. DH Seth Beer (.333) was 4 for 5 with three home runs and five RBIs. 1B Jake Lamb (.282) hit a three-run homer. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.362) was 2 for 5 with an RBI and three runs scored. C Henry Davis was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. 3B Malcom Nunez (.252) also knocked in a run. 2B Alika Williams (.284) and RF Edward Olivares (.240) each had two hits. RHP Domingo German (5-4, 5.53) earned the win after allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts in five innings. LHP Ryan Borucki (7.11) tossed a scoreless inning of relief, allowing one hit with three strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-52) lost 8-6 to Erie (Tigers). 1B Nick Cimillo (.133) homered for the 18th time this season but first at Double-A. 2B Kervin Pichardo (.258) hit his sixth home run of the season and was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.243) had an RBI single and RBI double. RHP Chris Gau (3.47) started a bullpen game and allowed two runs on one hit with three walks and four strikeouts in two innings. RHP Grant Ford (4.70) tossed four scoreless innings of relief. RHP Jack Carey (4-1, 4.31) took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits with a walk in 1 1/3 innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 56-34) defeated Asheville (Astros), 9-5. 1B Josiah Sightler (.205) hit two solo homers. C Shawn Ross (.175) cracked a grand slam. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.188) hit a two-run home run. DH Mitch Jebb (.228) was 3 for 5 with two runs scored. 2B Termarr Johnson (.251) was 2 for 4. RHP Patrick Reilly (3.54) started and allowed four runs on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts in a no-decision. LHP Cy Nielson (2-1, 1.72) picked up the win after two no-hit innings with a walk and four strikeouts.
