Pirates farm report for July 19, 2024: Matt Gorski hits 16th homer in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 40-50) took care of Omaha (Royals), 8-1. 3b Malcom Nunez (.260) went 3 for 4 with his ninth homer and three runs scored. RF Matt Gorski (.248) went 2 for 3 with his 16th homer and three runs scored. 1B Jake Lamb (.284) went 1 for 5 with a two-run homer, his fifth. DH Seth Beer (.302) went 3 for 5 with three RBIs. C Jason Delay (.295) went 3 for 5 and drove in a run. 2B Lioer Peguero went 0 for 5 with four strikeouts. RHP Aaron Shortridge (2.25), making his first Triple-A appearance of the season, started and went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts. RHP Isaac Mattson (2-1, 4.26) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. RHP Ryder Ryan (3.75), RHP Connor Sadzeck (3.98) and RHP Ben Heller (3.21) each threw a scoreless frame.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-49) managed just one hit in a 2-0 loss to Somerset (Yankees). 3B Charles McAdoo went 1 for 4 with a single. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3.66) started and pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks with six strikeouts. LHP Jaden Woods (1-2, 5.40) gave up two runs on four hits in two innings to take the loss. RHP Trystan Vrieling (5.21) started and allowed the one hit in six innings for Somerset.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 55-32) lost 4-2 to Hickory (Rangers). 2B Termarr Johnson (.246) went 2 for 5 with a double. 1B Josiah Sightler (.201) went 1 for 4 with his eighth homer. SS Jack Brannigan (.225) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. LHP Dominic Perachi (5-2, 2.15) started and went six innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits with five strikeouts. RHP Valentin Linarez (3.00) and LHP Julian Bosnic (5.50) each pitched a scoreless inning.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 38-49) and Tampa (Yankees) were scoreless in the fifth inning when their game was suspended by rain. It will be completed Saturday. RHP Carlson Reed threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk with four strikeouts. The Marauders did not record a hit.
