Pirates farm report for July 14, 2024: Homers by Henry Davis, Matt Gorski not enough in Indy loss
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 39-50) fell 6-5 to Columbus (Guardians). C Henry Davis (.290) and LF Matt Gorski (.243) hit solo home runs. CF Gilberto Celestino (.269) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. 1B Malcom Nunez (.253) was 1 for 4 with an RBI. 2B Alika Williams (.278) had a hit. RF Edward Olivares (.143) was 2 for 4 with a double. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith (1-1, 4.97) took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts in three innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-48) defeated Bowie (Orioles), 5-3, for its ninth win in its past 10 games. 3B Charles McAdoo (.279) and LF Dustin Peterson (.227) each hit solo homers. McAdoo was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. CF Jase Bowen (.244) also had two hits, including an RBI triple. 1B Joe Perez (.230) smacked an RBI single. RHP Chris Gau (2.95) started and allowed one run on three hits with a walk. LHP Ryan Burucki (5.40), on a rehab outing, allowed two runs on one hit with two walks in 2/3 of an inning of relief. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (2-1, 3.96) earned the win after allowing one hit in 3 1/3 scoreless innings with two walks and four strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 55-31) defeated Winston-Salem (White Sox), 4-1, in a game shortened to six innings because of inclement weather. 2B Jack Brannigan (.224) was 2 for 2 with a solo homer and two RBIs. 3B Kalae Harrison (.200) was 1 for 2 with a two-run double. SS Mitch Jebb (.225) was 1 for 3. RHP Wilber Dotel (7-3, 5.17) allowed one run on one hit with eight strikeouts in five innings to earn the victory.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 38-49) edged Jupiter (Marlins), 6-5, on a walk-off in 12 innings. DH Esmerlyn Valdez (.239) hit an RBI double in the bottom of the 12th to tie the game. RF Miguel Sosa (.160) walked with the bases loaded for the winning run. C Omar Alfonzo (.263) was 2 for 5, including a two-run homer. SS Javier Rivas (.228) was 1 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Peyton Stumbo (4.89) allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts over three innings. RHP Justin Miknis (1-0, 0.00) picked up the win after 1/3 of an inning of relief.
