INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 38-42) used four pitchers to throw a six-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over Iowa (Cubs). CF Anthony Alford (.293) went 1 for 4 and hit a two-run home run, his 12th, in the sixth inning. 3B Michael Chavis (.275) went 1 for 3 with a double and his second stolen base. 2B Tucupita Marcano (.250) went 1 for 3 with a walk. LF Dustin Fowler (.270) went 1 for 2 with a run scored. LHP Cam Vieaux (2-1, 5.68) started and went five innings, giving up three hits. RHP Matt Eckelman (4.79), RHP John O’Reilly (3.38) and RHP Tyler Bashlor (2.75) combined to throw four scoreless innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 44-34) handled Akron (Indians), 3-1. RHP Travis MacGregor (5.09) started and gave up one run on four hits in six innings, fanning six. RHP Steven Jennings (2-0, 4.15) pitched two perfect innings with two strikeouts. RHP Cristofer Melendez (2.14) got the last three outs for his sixth save. 1B Mason Martin (.266) went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. LF Jack Suwinski (.346) went 2 for 4 and drove in a run. RF Cal Mitchell (.279) went 1 for 5 with a pair of RBIs.

GREENSBORO (High A, 50-31) was shut down by Hickory (Rangers), 3-0, managing only three hits, all singles. SS Liover Peguero (.261), 3B Jared Triolo (.298) and RF Matt Gorski (.217) each went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts. Gorski stole his 14th base. RHP Domingo Gonzalez (0-1, 9.35) started and was tagged for six runs on seven hits, including four home runs, in three innings.

BRADENTON (Low A, 46-32) lost 6-3 to Clearwater (Phillies), recording just three hits. C Endy Rodriguez (.276) went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. 3B Alexander Mojica (.218) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. 3B Ernny Ordonez (.253) went 1 for 3. RHP Nick Garcia (3.75) started and went four innings, surrendering one run on four hits. RHP Luis Ortiz (1-3, 3.45) was touched up for five runs, four earned, on five hits in four innings of relief. A second scheduled game was rained out. It will be made up Sept. 8.
