Pirates farm report for Aug. 4, 2022: Rodolfo Castro homers in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 49-51) scored three runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to beat Louisville (Reds), 5-3. SS Rodolfo Castro (.248) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his 12th. DH Brendt Cita (.250) was 1 for 4 with his second home run. C Carter Bins (.202) went 2 for 4 with a double. RHP Osvaldo Bido (5.35) started and went three innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with eight strikeouts. RHP John O’Reilly (4-2, 6.75) earned the win, giving up one run on two hits in three innings. RHP Hunter Stratton (5.68) worked two scoreless innings and RHP Eric Hanhold (3.89) pitched a scoreless ninth for his fourth save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 47-51) and Akron (Guardians) were rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday starting at 4 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 43-54) was doubled up by Bowling Green (Rays), 6-3. RHP Jared Jones (5-5, 5.03) started and went five innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits, including two homers. He walked three and struck out four. RHP Santiago Florez (6.93) pitched two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. SS Dariel Lopez (.291) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. 2B Yoyner Fajardo (.262) went 2 for 5. CF Hudson Head (.234) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 49-49) lost to Fort Myers (Twins), 7-4. LHP Luis Peralta (0-5, 6.64) started and worked 4.1 innings, getting touched up for five runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out five. RF Jasiah Dixon (.257) went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. CF Sergio Campana (.205) was 1 for 2 with a double, a walk and a run scored. DH Bubba Chandler (.219) went 0 for 2 with two walks and his second stolen base.
