Pirates farm report for Aug. 30, 2022: Nick Gonzales drives in 4 runs for Curve

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 62-60) lost in walk-off fashion to Louisville (Reds), 7-6, in 10 innings. Indianapolis used a slew of RBI singles to score five runs in the top of the first. 1B Kevin Padlo (.424) went 1 for 5 and knocked in the first run. RF Bligh Madris (.289) was 0 for 5 but recorded an RBI with a groundout to first to score LF Cal Mitchell (.338), who went 3 for 5 with a double. DH Mason Martin (.214) smacked an RBI single to shortstop and C Jose Godoy (.204) closed out the first-inning barrage with a two-RBI single to left. 3B Diego Castillo (.272) went 2 for 3 and added an insurance run in the fifth with his third home run. RHP Jerad Eickoff (4.62) gave up six runs over 5.1 innings on four hits and struck out three. RHP Cody Bolton (2.97) allowed no runs on two hits and struck out three in 2.2 innings of relief. RHP Eric Hanhold (3-3, 3.74) went 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and the walk off single to get the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 60-60) held on to beat Akron (Guardians), 7-5. SS Liover Peguero (.255) was 0 for 3 but had two bases-loaded walks, one in the fifth inning and another in the sixth. 2B Nick Gonzales (.257) went 3 for 4 and brought Peguero home on a bases-clearing double for three of his four RBIs. DH Henry Davis (.197) returned from injury and a stint in Bradenton and went 2 for 4. C Endy Rodriguez (.349) went 0 for 4 with a walk. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (4-8, 5.12) went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out five. RHP Enmanuel Mejia (5.36) tossed two shutout innings, allowed no hits and struck out four. RHP Bear Bellomy (7.19) allowed two runs in the ninth but was able to shut the door and give the Curve the victory.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 54-64) smashed Winston-Salem (White Sox), 7-1. RHP Justin Meis (3-4, 4.70) of Bethel Park started and threw seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks and striking out six. SS Mike Jarvis (.203) went 2 for 3 and led off the game with his sixth homer. CF Jase Bowen (.141) went 1 for 3 and hit his second homer. LF Hudson Head (.238) went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. DH Eli Wilson (.262) went 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored. 2B Jackson Glenn (.212) went 2 for 2 with a walk.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 62-58) held on to beat Fort Myers (Twins), 11-9. RF Matt Gorski (.333), on a rehab assignment, opened the scoring for Bradenton with a solo home run in the third, his first in Low-A. 1B Brenden Dixon (.218) went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and 2B Norkis Marcos (.200) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. DH Temarr Johnson (.154) pinch ran in the seventh and singled in the eighth. RHP Bubba Chandler (3.68) recorded one out and allowed one run on no hits and walked three. LHP Cy Nielson (11.57) came on in the fourth and allowed four runs, three earned, on four hits, walked two and struck out three to allow Fort Myers to tie the game at 6. RHP Yunior Thibo (4-5, 4.78) pitched 2.2 innings and stopped the bleeding with no runs on no hits, but RHP Wilkin Ramos (4.00) allowed Fort Myers to score two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning. RHP Johan Montero (2.96) came on with two outs in the ninth to shut the door for the Marauder victory.
