Pirates farm report for Aug. 3, 2024: Billy Cook, Nick Yorke each double twice in Indy loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 49-54) lost 8-7 to Toledo (Tigers) in 10 innings. RF Billy Cook (.282) went 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a stolen base. LF Nick Yorke (.313) went 2 for 4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. C Henry Davis (.314) went 1 for 5 with a double and a run scored. RHP Domingo German (5.29) started and went seven innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, including three homers. He struck out seven. LHP Josh Walker (3.34) gave up two runs on two hits in an inning. RHP Ben Heller (2-3, 3.55) went two innings, gave up one hit and allowed the automatic runner to score in the 10th to take the loss.

Next: Sunday vs. Toledo (Tigers), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 44-57) lost 4-1 to Richmond (Giants). RF Sammy Siani (.245) went 2 for 3 with a walk and two stolen bases. CF Tres Gonzalez (.237) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. LHP Nick Dombkowski (3-2, 2.70) started and allowed two runs on five hits in three innings. RHP Jack Carey (3.62) pitched the final three innings, allowing no runs on two hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

Next: Sunday vs. Richmond (Giants), 1 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 58-41) lost 5-3 to Winston-Salem (White Sox) in six innings. C Shawn Ross (.182) went 1 for 2 with a walk and his 20th home run. 1B Josiah Sightler (.203) went 1 for 3 with his 12th homer. DH Luke Brown (.193) went 1 for 3 with a triple and a run scored. RHP JP Massey (3-5, 5.93) started and allowed four runs on three hits in three innings to take the loss. RHP Scott Randall (6.55) gave up one run on two hits in three innings. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was scoreless when it was suspended by rain in the fourth inning. It will be completed Sunday.

Next: Sunday at Winston-Salem (White Sox), completion of suspended game, 12:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 41-60) lost 9-2 to Palm Beach (Cardinals). 3B Javier Rivas (.222) went 1 for 3 with his 10th homer. C Axiel Plaz (.206) went 1 for 4 with his 14th home run. RHP Hung-Leng Chang (4.48) started and went 1⅓ innings, allowing no runs and one hit. RHP Danny Carrion (4.73) pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings and RHP Greiber Mendez (2.45) tossed 2⅓ scoreless frames. RHP Noah Takacs (0-1, 27.00) gave up four runs on three hits, including a homer, in 1⅓ innings to take the loss.
