Pirates farm report for Aug. 29, 2021: Nick Gonzales smacks 3 home runs, 8 RBIs in Greensboro's blowout win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 48-53) edged Louisville (Reds), 7-6. 3B Philip Evans (.280) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. SS Hoy Park (.306) knocked in three runs. CF Jared Oliva (.250) was 2 for 4 with a double. RHP James Mavel (5.60) allowed five runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and a walk in five innings. RHP Shelby Miller tossed a shutout inning with two strikeouts to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-47) had its game with Richmond (Giants) canceled because of rain in the bottom of the fourth inning. The game will not be made up. 1B Mason Martin (.251) homered before the game was called.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 64-38) outslugged Asheville (Astros), 19-11. Pirates 2020 No. 1 draft pick Nick Gonzales (.298) was 4 for 7, clubbed three home runs and had eight RBIs. CF Jonah Davis (.211) hit two homers and had four RBIs. DH Liover Peguero (.266) was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (3-2, 4.45) allowed four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in five innings to earn the win.

BRADENTON (Low A, 62-38) crushed Fort Myers (Twins), 22-5. SS Maikol Escotto was 2 for 6 with two RBIs and four runs scored. RHP Wandi Montout (6-0) struck out two batters in 1 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win.
