Pirates farm report for Aug. 28, 2021: Liover Peguero homers in Greensboro rout

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 47-53) outslugged Louisville (Reds), 13-10. LF Jared Oliva (.242) went 3 for 3 with a walk and five RBIs. SS Ethan Paul (.220) was 1 for 4 with a double and drove in four runs. 1B Phillip Evans (.257) went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. LHP Cam Vieaux (8.13) started and gave up three runs on six hits in four innings. He fanned seven. LHP Blake Weiman (3-0, 5.40) pitched a scoreless sixth to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-47) was lit up by Richmond (Giants), 15-3. RHP Travis MacGregor (3-8, 6.90) was tagged for six runs on four hits and four walks in two innings. RF Cal Mitchell (.287) went 2 for 3 with a walk and scored twice. 1B Mason Martin (.251) went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 63-38) clobbered Asheville (Astros), 12-5. SS Liover Peguero (.263) went 3 for 6 and hit a two-run homer, his 13th. 1B Will Matthiessen (.222) went 1 for 5 with a three-run shot, his 11th. 3B Jared Triolo (.297) went 3 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs. 2B Nick Gonzales (.291) went 2 for 6 with a double and two runs scored. DH Aaron Shackelford (.204) went 2 for 5 with two doubles. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (3.47) gave up two runs on five hits in 1.2 innings. RHP Garrett Leonard (1-2, 6.13) gave up one run on one hit and four walks in 1.2 innings but earned the win. RHP J.C. Flowers (4.31) pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits and striking out eight.

RHP Logan Hofmann (5-2, 3.15) gave up three runs, two earned, on seven hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five. RHP Justin Meis (1.74), a Bethel Park grad, gave up three runs, none earned, on four hits and three walks in two innings. RHP Oliver Mateo (5.29) struck out the side in the ninth to earn his fourth save.
