Pirates farm report for Aug. 27, 2022: Endy Rodriguez homers, doubles twice for Curve

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 62-58) beat Rochester (Nationals), 5-3. RF Jack Suwinski (.214) went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. 1B Mason Martin (.211) was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. CF Travis Swaggerty (.258) had four plate appearances and no official at-bats, walking three times and hitting a sacrifice fly. RHP Johan Oviedo (4.70) started and pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. RHP John O’reilly (5-2, 5.69) pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 59-59) scored three in the 10th to beat Bowie (Orioles), 10-8. SS Liover Peguero (.258), RF Connor Scott (.248) and 2B Nick Gonzales (.246) had RBI singles in the 10th. Pegueri went 2 for 5. Scott was 2 for 4. Gonzales went 1 for 6. DH Endy Rodriguez (.345) went 3 for 6 with a homer, his fifth in Double-A and 21st overall this season, and two doubles. C Blake Sabol (.282) went 1 for 5 ith a two-run homer, his 14th. RHP Kyle Nicolas (3.86) started and allowed three runs, two earned, one three hits and three walks in four innings. LHP Tyler Samaniego (3-3, 3.77) gave up one hit, a solo home run, in two innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Austin Roberts (5.03) gave up one unearned run in the 10th to earn his second save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 52-64) was doubled up by Greenville (Red Sox), 8-4. C Eli Wilson (.267) went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, his sixth. SS Mike Jarvis (.176) went 1 for 5 with his fourth home run. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.294) went 2 for 5. RF Jase Bowen (.140) and 3B Ernny Ordonez (.208) each went 2 for 4. RHP Jack Carey (4-6, 5.72) opened and allowed one run on two hits in one inning, taking the loss. He struck out three. RHP Logan Hofmann (6.49) was touched up for four runs on two hits and four walks in 2.1 innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 60-58) lost to Dunedin (Blue Jays), 5-2. Joelvis Del Rosario (6-3, 3.69) started and was touched up for two runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.277) went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. 3B Jack Brannigan (.255) was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 1B Juan Jerez (.218) went 1 for 4 with an RBI and his 18th stolen base.
