Pirates farm report for Aug. 27, 2021: Quinn Priester, reliever combine on 1-hitter for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 46-53) walked it off in 10 innings against Louisville (Reds), winning 3-2. RHP Beau Sulser (4.53) started and went 4⅓ innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He also struck out three. The bullpen pitched 5⅔ scoreless innings, with LHP Joe Jacques (4.53) getting two outs and RHP Cody Ponce (4.89) and RHP Tyler Bashlor (2.63) each pitching two scoreless. Shea Spitzbarth (1.64) pitched a scoreless inning as well. LF Bligh Madris (.249) drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th on a sacrifice fly. 1B John Nogowski (.199) and CF Jared Oliva (.225) had the other two hits for Indianapolis.

Next: Saturday vs. Louisville (Reds), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-46) lost to Richmond (Giants) 6-3. LHP Omar Cruz (5-6, 3.54) threw five innings of shutout ball, giving up three hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Shea Murray (4-2, 4.34) got the loss while pitching one inning, giving up three runs on three hits, including a home run, two walks, and three strikeouts. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.277) went 2 for 4, hitting two singles with a walk and two runs scored. CF Matt Frazier (.333) was 0 for 3 with a sac fly. LF Jack Suwinski (.228) was 1 for 4 with a single.

Next: Saturday vs. Richmond (Giants), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 62-38) shut out Asheville (Astros), 8-0, with a couple of pitchers combining for a one-hitter. RHP Quinn Priester (6-3, 2.86) went six innings, giving up one hit and no walks and striking out 13. RHP Colin Selby (4.83) pitched the final three innings, walking one and striking out six. SS Liover Peguero (.258) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. 2B Nick Gonzales (.290) went 1 for 5, hitting his 11th home run of the season. RF Matt Gorski (.225), 1B Aaron Shackelford (.201), and CF Jonah Davis also went deep.

Next: Saturday vs. Asheville (Astros), 6:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low A, 60-38) split a doubleheader with Fort Myers (Twins). In the first game, Bradenton won 8-2. CF Jase Bowen (.220) hit a two-run home run. DH Jack Herman (.276) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Luis Ortiz (4-3, 3.18) allowed two runs on one hit with seven strikeouts in five innings to earn the win.

In Game 2, Bradenton lost 10-2. Bowen (.223) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. 3B Jackson Glenn (.433) was 2 for 3. LHP Jared Jones (3-3, 4.23) allowed nine runs (five earned) on seven hits with six strikeouts in 2⅔ innings and took the loss.
