Pirates farm report for Aug. 22, 2024: Liover Peguero homers twice in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 58-61) beat Columbus (Guardians), 9-8, in 10 innings. SS Liover Peguero (.251) went 3 for 5 with a pair of homers, his 10th and 11th, and a double. 2B Nick Gonzales (.354) went 1 for 4 and also homered. 1B Jake Lamb (.268) went 2 for 5 and doubled in the winning run in the 10th. LF Nick Yorke (.326) went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs. RHP Bubba Chandler (1.50) made his third Triple-A start and allowed three runs on five hits and a walk in five innings. He struck out six. LHP Ryan Borucki (5.79) pitched an inning and allowed a solo home run. RHP Colin Holderman (7.94) gave up a run on a hit and a walk in an inning. RHP Carmen Mlodzisnki (7.47) allowed three runs on three hits, including a homer, in two-third of an inning. RHP Connor Sadzeck (4-2, 4.02) pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings, allowing two hits, to earn the win. LHP Brady Feigl (3.83) worked a scoreless 10th, striking out two, to pick up his second save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 48-69) lost 7-6 to Richmond (Giants) in 11 innings. LF Yoyner Fajardo (.295) and 3B Jackson Glenn (.192) went 1 for 5 with a run scored and two RBIs apiece. CF Jase Bowen (.238) went 1 for 3 with two walks and an RBI. RF Tres Gonzalez (.233) went 1 for 5 with two runs scored. RHP Grant Ford (4.37) started and gave up two runs on four hits and a walk in an inning. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (3.28) allowed one run on four hits in four innings and RHP JC Flowers gave up one run on one hit and a walk in three innings. RHP Eddy Yean (6-5, 3.86) gave up two unearned runs in the 11th to take the loss.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 64-51) scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to beat Asheville (Astros), 5-4. C Geovanny Planchart (.216) went 1 for 3 with two RBIs. SS Kalae Harrison (.161) went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a stolen base. 2B Termarr Johnson (.235) went 1 for 2 with two walks and a run scored. RHP JP Massey (5.05) started and gave up two runs on two hits in five innings. He walked three and struck out eight. RHP Ryan Harbin (6.00) pitched a scoreless sixth. LHP Julian Bosnic (2-3, 3.69) gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits in two innings but picked up the win. RHP Elijah Birdsong (4.93) worked a scoreless ninth for his first save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 49-68) doubled up Lakeland (Tigers), 4-2. RF Will Taylor (.150) went 1 for 4 with a bases-loaded double. C Axiel Plaz (.211) went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. 1B Ethan Lege (.313) went 2 for 4 with a run scored. LHP Connor Wietgrefe (1.80) started and pitched two perfect innings. RHP Carlos Jimenez (5-3, 3.42) came on and pitched five innings, allowing two unearned runs on two hits and three walks to earn the win. RHP Peyton Strumbo (5.46) threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three, to pick up his fourth save.
