Pirates farm report for Aug. 22, 2023: Bubba Chandler throws 7 scoreless for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 55-64) was knocked around by Iowa (Cubs), 10-4. RHP Jared Jones (2-3, 5.91) started and was tagged for six runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings. LF Miguel Andujar (.352) went 3 for 3 with his 16th homer, a double, two runs scored and a walk. 3B Jared Triolo (.295) went 3 for 4 with his second Triple-A homer. DH Domingo Leyba (.311) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. 2B Nick Gonzales (.267) went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. RHP Kyle Nicolas (7.68) pitched two scoreless innings and RHP Travis MacGregor (4.85) threw a scoreless frame.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 53-59) hammered Akron (Guardians), 9-2. DH Mike Jarvis (.268) went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his first. CF Matt Gorski (.237) went 1 for 3 with his 15th homer. SS Andres Alvarez (.221) went 1 for 2 with a double, two walks and two runs scored. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.291) and C Eli Wilson (.188) each went 2 for 4. 3B Jackson Glenn (.274) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.225) went 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. LHP Nick Dombkowski (5-4, 3.23) started and went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts. LHP Omar Cruz (4.58) pitched three scoreless innings and RHP Justin Meis (4.87) of Bethel Park threw a scoreless frame.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 62-50) blanked Rome (Braves), 2-0, on a four-hit shutout. RHP Bubba Chandler (8-4, 4.90) started and went seven innings, allowing four hits and no walks with six strikeouts. RHP Valentin Linarez (4.29) threw two hitless innings with three strikeouts to earn his second save. 3B Jack Brannigan (.313) went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, his 11th. CF Tres Gonzalez (.284) went 1 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and his 19th stolen base. 2B Termarr Johnson (.214) went 0 for 2 with two walks.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 64-50) was beaten by Jupiter (Marlins), 7-2. LF Rodolfo Nolasco (.215) went 2 for 3 with two doubles. SS Mitch Jebb (.299) went 2 for 5 with a double, a run scored and his eighth stolen base. DH Deivis Nadal (.219) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. RHP Hung-Leng Chang (1-2, 9.31) started and gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits in four innings. RHP Landon Tomkins (5.00) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.
