Pirates farm report for Aug. 20, 2021: Oneil Cruz has 3 hits in return from injury

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 44-49) blanked Toledo (Tigers), 5-0. RHP Max Kranick (2-3, 4.97) threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks, fanning three. LHP Sam Howard, rehabbing an oblique injury, threw two perfect innings of relief with two strikeouts. RHP Tyler Bashlor (2.92) pitched a perfect ninth. RF Jared Oliva (.224) went 2 for 5 with a triple and three RBIs. C Christian Bathancourt (.270) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 50-42) clobbered Somerset (Yankees), 11-3. DH Oneil Cruz (.298), out since June 30 with a forearm injury, returned to the lineup and went 3 for 5 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs. LF Jack Suwinski (.236) went 2 for 4 with two home runs, his second and third of the season. CF Matthew Fraizer (.385) was 1 for 2 with a bases-clearing double. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.266) went 2 for 4 with a walk, three runs scored and his 16th stolen base. RHP Osvaldo Brito (3-5, 4.97) gave up two runs on fours hits in 6.2 innings with six strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High A, 59-35) beat Bowling Green (Rays), 7-6, when 1B Will Matthiessen (.230) drove in 2B Nick Gonzales (.288) with a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Gonzales went 3 for 4 with two doubles. CF Jonah Davis (.154) went 1 for 2 with his second home run and first stolen base of the year. SS Liover Peguero (.263) went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. 3B Jared Triolo (.299) went 1 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and his fifth stolen base. RHP Quinn Priester (3.08) started and allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings. He walked none and struck out six. RHP Will Kobos (6-2, 2.16) worked a scoreless ninth to earn the win.

LF Jack Herman (.270) went 2 for 3 with a double, his eighth home run and three RBIs. 2B Jackson Glenn (.500) went 1 for 2 with two walks and an RBI. 3B Francisco Acuna (.262) went 2 for 2 with a double. RHP Luis Ortiz (3-3, 3.15) gave up three runs, one earned, on three hits with eight strikeouts in five innings. RHP Sergio Umana (5.23) pitched a scoreless sixth for his third save.
