Pirates farm report for Aug. 17, 2021: Henry Davis hits 1st home run for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 43-47) was blasted by Toledo (Tigers), 7-1. 1B Michael Chavis (.280) went 3 for 4 with a double. DH Hunter Owen (.236) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. RF Bligh Madris (.265) was 1 for 3 with walk and a run scored. SS Cole Tucker (.232) went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts and an error. LHP Cam Vieaux (2-2, 7.06) gave up four runs on five hits and six walks in four innings. LHP Joe Jacques (4.30) pitched two scoreless innings, giving up no hits, walking one and fanning three.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 47-42) was crunched by Somerset (Yankees), 9-1. DH Matthew Fraizer (.372) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. 2B Diego Castillo (.279) was 2 for 4 with a double. 1B Mason Martin (.26) went 1 for 4 and drove in his 64th run of the season. RHP Travis MacGregor (3-6, 6.04) allowed five runs, four earned, on eight hits with seven strikeouts. RHP Shea Murray (3.97) pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High A, 58-33) was clobbered by Bowling Green (Rays), 17-8. C Henry Davis (.333) went 2 for 4 and hit his first home run for Greensboro, a solo shot in the fifth. He doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs. RF Will Matthiessen (.230) went 3 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. 2B Nick Gonzales (.283) was 2 for 5. 3B Jared Triolo (.306) went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and his 21st stolen base. DH Blake Sabol (.306) went 2 for 4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI. RHP Grant Ford (7-3, 5.25) surrendered five runs on four hits and three walks in three innings. RHP Bear Bellomy (5.21) gave up five runs on five hits and recorded two outs.

BRADENTON (Low A, 54-32) took a pair of 10-inning games from Clearwater (Phillies). The first was the completion of a suspended game. The Marauders won, 5-4. 2B Jackson Glenn had the game-winning RBI single in the 10th. LF Sammy Siani (.213) went 1 for 4 with his eighth home run and ninth stolen base. 3B Dariel Lopez (.241) was 2 for 5 with his fifth homer. RHP Wandi Montout (3-0, 8.40) pitched a scoreless 10th to earn the win.

Bradenton won the second game, 7-4. LF Jack Herman (.265) hit a three-run walk-off homer, his seventh of the season, in the bottom of the 10th. He went 4 for 6 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Glenn went 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. 2B Maikol Escotto (.250) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. C Endy Rodriguez (.274) went 1 for 2 with a double and drove in a run. RHP Nick Garcia (4.50) started and allowed four runs on six hits in 4.1 innings. RHP Justin Meis (1.69), a Bethel Park grad, pitched 1.2 innings of relief, allowing no runs and one hit with one strikeout. RHP Oliver Mateo (4-2, 5.52) pitched a scoreless 10th for the win.
