Pirates farm report for Aug. 15, 2024: Nick Yorke, Henry Davis collect 3 hits each in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 54-59) beat St. Paul (Twins), 6-4. CF Nick Yorke (.332) went 3 for 4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. C Henry Davis (.309) went 3 for 5 with a run scored. 2B Liover Peguero (.253) went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. SS Alika Williams (.307) went 2 for 5 with a double and two runs scored. 1B Billy McKinney (.289) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. RHP Mike Burrows (4.50) started and gave up two runs on three hits in 1⅔ innings. LHP Michael Plassmeyer (3-8, 7.62) gave up one run on three hits in 3⅓ innings to pick up the win. LHP Brady Feigl (4.15) pitched two scoreless innings, giving up one hit. RHP Connor Sadzeck (4.13) gave up one run on one hit in two innings to earn the save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 46-65) beat Bowie (Orioles), 4-2, on a walk-off three-run home run by RF Jase Bowen (.236) in the bottom of the ninth. SS Kervin Pichardo (.275) went 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored. RHP Grant Ford (4.04) started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk with four strikeouts. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.73) followed with four scoreless innings, allowing no hits and fanning four. LHP Cy Nielson (1-1, 9.00) gave up a run on three hits in 1⅔ innings but picked up the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 62-48) lost 5-1 to Bowling Green (Rays). The Grasshoppers were held to five hits, all singles. LF PJ Hilson (.254) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. C Geovanny Planchart (.213) went 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored. RHP JP Massey (5.19) started and gave up one run on four hits and a walk in four innings. RHP Scot Randall (2-2, 5.70) allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits in four innings to take the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 46-65) lost 6-5 to Dunedin (Blue Jays). The first profession hit for CF Will Taylor (.143), the Pirates’ fifth-round pick out of Clemson in last month’s draft, was a grand slam. SS Jhonny Severino (.286) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 3B Duce Gourson (.125) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored. RHP Khristian Curtis (4.50) started and allowed one unearned run on one hit with three walks and five strikeouts in 3⅔ innings. RHP Greiber Mendez (4.22) pitched three innings, giving up one run on one hit with a walk and five strikeouts. RHP Clevari Tejada (1-1, 5.54) gave up four runs on five hits in 2⅓ innings to take the loss.
