Pirates farm report for Aug. 13, 2022: Newly acquired Malcom Nunez homers for Curve
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 54-54) handled Memphis (Cardinals), 6-1. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (4.39) started and worked three pefect innings, striking out five. RHP Mike Burrows (1-3, 4.93) came on and earned the win, allowing one run on three hits, including a homer, in 4.1 innings. He struck out six. DH Cal Mitchell (.324) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his sixth, and a walk. RF Diego Castillo (.292) and 2B Kevin Padlo (.533) each went 3 for 5 with an RBI. 3B Hoy Park (.223) was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-55) edged out Binghamton (Mets), 3-2. 1B Malcom Nunez (.286), who was acquired from St. Louis in the Jose Quintana deal, went 2 for 2 with a home run, two RBIs and a walk. LF Andres Alvarez (.230) went 2 for 4. 3B Jared Triolo was 1 for 5 with a double. 2B Nick Gonzales (.242) went 1 for 4 with his fifth stolen base. RHP Aaron Shortridge (1-3, 6.75) started and went five innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks. He struck out four. RHP JC Flowers worked three scoreless innings of relief. LHP Tyler Samaniego (2.63) got the final out for his ninth save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 46-59) was blanked by Jersey Shore (Phillies), 8-0. RHP Sean Sullivan (2-5, 4.56) started and took the loss, allowing two runs, none earned, on one hit and two walks in four innings. He struck out seven. RHP Jack Carey (5.27) was touched up for five runs on four hits in two innings of relief. SS Dariel Lopez (.294) went 2 for 4. RF Hudson Head (.233) was 1 for 3 with a double.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 56-50) scored three runs in the seventh inning to beat Palm Beach (Cardinals), 7-5. RF Tanner Tredaway, the Pirates’ 10th-round pick in the 2022 draft who was playing his first Class A game, hit the go-ahead two-run double in the seventh. He was 1 for 4. 3B Jack Brannigan (.333) was 1 for 4 with his second home run. C Wyatt Hendrie (.236) went 3 for 4 with an RBI. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.265) was 2 for 4 with a double and drove in a run. RHP Johan Montero (4-0, 3.12) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Yunio Thibo (4.17) gave up one run in the ninth and earned his seventh save.
