Pirates farm report for Aug. 11, 2022: Roansy Contreras scratches out win for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 52-54) split a doubleheader with Memphis (Cardinals). Indy won the first game, 8-7. RHP Roansy Contreras (3.15) started and was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in five innings. RHP Eric Hanhold (3.66) got the last out for his sixth save. 3B Kevin Padlo, playing his first game for Indy after being claimed on waivers from Seattle, went 3 for 3 with a three-run homer. 1B Mason Martin (.212) went 3 for 4 with an RBI. CF Jack Suwinski (.257) went 2 for 4 with two runs scored. LF Travis Swaggerty (.265) was 2 for 5 with a double, an RBI and his 12th stolen base. C Jamie Ritchie (.233) was 2 for 2 with two walks.

In the second game, Indy managed four hits and lost, 7-0. 2B Diego Castillo (.256) was 2 for 3. RHP Osvaldo Bido (1-7, 5.52) started and took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in 2.2 innings.

Next: Friday at Memphis (Cardinals), 8:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 51-54) scored two in the top of the ninth to beat Binghamton (Mets), 8-6. 3B Jared Triolo (.274) and C Endy Rodriguez (.273) had RBI singles in the ninth. Triolo went 2 for 4 with a double. Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with a walk. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.247) went 1 for 4 and homered for the fourth consecutive game. He has 22 for the season. RHP Quinn Priester (2.49) started and went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, including a homer, with eight strikeouts. RHP Colin Selby earned the win, allowing one run on two hits in two innings. SS Liover Peguero (.266) went 2 for 5. LF Blake Sabol (.270) was 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs.

Next: Friday at Binghamton (Mets), 6:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 45-58) doubled up Jersey Shore (Phillies), 6-3. RHP Justin Meis (2-4, 5.56) of Bethel Park started and worked six innings, allowing two solo home runs and striking out six to earn the win. RHP Eddie Yean (6.02) pitched two scoreless innings to earn his second save. RF Luke Brown (.226) went 2 for 3 with a home run, his first, and two RBIs. LF Jase Bowen (.091) went 1 for 3 with his first homer in High-A. SS Francisco Acuna (.267) was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.

Next: Friday vs. Jersey Shore (Phillies), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 54-50) beat Palm Beach (Cardinals), 6-4. 2B Norkis Marcos (.182) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his second. 1B Brenden Dixon (.205) went 1 for 4 with his sixth homer. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.260) went 2 for 4 with a double. C Wyatt Hendrie (.223) was 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. LHP Luis Peralta (6.46) started and went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts. RHP Darvin Garcia (3-3, 5.66) gave up one run on two hits in three innings to earn the win. RHP Carlos Lomeli (6.28) allowed one run in two innings to record his fourth save.
