Pirates farm report for Aug. 1, 2021: Colin Moran belts 3-run home run in Indianapolis rehab outing
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 37-39) rolled past St. Paul (Twins), 12-5. In rehab starts, 1B Colin Moran (.294) hit a three-run home run, and DH Erik Gonzalez (.500) was 2 for 3 with an RBI. CF Anthony Alford (.301) was 3 for 5, including a three-run home run. PH Fabricio Macias (.298) hit a two-run homer. RF Christian Bethancourt (.283) also homered and was 3 for 5. SS Cole Tucker (.241) was 2 for 5. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-4, 4.91) earned the win after allowing two runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings. LHP Dillon Peters (1.50) allowed one run on two hits with three walks and five strikeouts in three innings, earning a no-decision.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 41-34) lost 8-7 to Harrisburg (Nationals). 1B Brendt Citta (.296) was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, including a double and solo homer. RF Cal Mitchell (.291) was 2 for 5 with an RBI, his 40th of the season. C Carter Bins (.286) also knocked in two runs. LHP Trey McGough (3.88) allowed three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts in five innings in a no-decision. RHP Cristopher Melendez (1-2, 2.50) took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits in an inning of relief.

GREENSBORO (High A, 49-29) won 7-4 over Winston-Salem (White Sox). SS Liover Peguero (.266) hit a pair of two-run home runs and has now hit five in the past four games. 2B Nick Gonzales (.270) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. 3B Andres Alvarez (.261) was 3 for 3, including a homer. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (1-2, 4.66) allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts in five innings to earn the win.

C Kyle Wilkie (.211) added an RBI single. LHP Jared Jones (2-2, 3.73) allowed one run on six hits with eight strikeouts in six innings to earn the win.
