Pirates farm report for April 26, 2023: Henry Davis belts 5th homer in Curve win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 9-14) gave up a ninth inning rally, losing 10-7 to Columbus (Guardians). 2B Brenden Dixon (.400) went 2 for 4 and uncorked a grand slam for his first home run of the year. LF Miguel Andujar (.298) hit a solo home run, his third, singled and drew a bases loaded walk. RF Cal Mitchell went 0 for 5 with four strikeouts. LHP Caleb Smith (10.13) started and went 1.2 innings, allowed six runs on four hits, walked five, gave up a home run and fanned two. RHP J.C. Flowers (3.38) threw 3.1 innings in relief and held Columbus to just three hits and two walks and struck out three. RHP Yerry De Los Santos (0-3, 10.00) came on in the eighth and threw 1.2 innings, including a rough ninth, allowing four runs on six hits for the loss.

Next: Thursday vs. Columbus (Guardians), 11:05 a.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 8-8) drilled Reading (Phillies), 9-3. C Henry Davis (.265) went 1 for 4 with a two-run home run, his fifth. SS Liover Peguero (.231) went 2 for 3 with two walks, his sixth stolen base and three runs scored. 1B Mason Martin (.237) went 2 for 4 with a double. CF Matthew Fraizer (.300) went 2 for 3 and DH Jacob Gonzalez (.273) was 2 for 5. RHP Justin Meis (6.75) of Bethel Park started and went 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks. RHP Travis MacGregor (3-0, 1.74) came on and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, to earn the win.

Next: Thursday at Reading (Phillies), 6:45 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 12-5) defeated Rome (Braves), 4-1. RHP Bubba Chandler (2-0, 3.71) started and threw five shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks, striking out nine. RF Jase Bowen (.333) went 1 for 3 with an RBI single and a walk. 3B Jackson Glenn (.289) was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. SS Maikol Escotto (.208) had an RBI single and 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.259) went 0 for 3 with a strikeout and a walk. RHP Michell Miliano (0.82) threw two innings of relief and gave up one run on three hits and struck out three.

Next: Thursday vs. Rome (Braves), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 11-6) only mustered four hits in a 2-1 loss to Dunedin (Blue Jays). CF Tres Gonzalez (.333) scored on a throwing error in the first inning for the only run for the Marauders. RF Rodolfo Nolasco (.375) went 2 for 4 with two doubles. DH Jauri Custodio (.250) and C Geovanny Planchart (.130) each went 1 for 4 with a single. RHP Owen Kellington (0-1, 3.55) started and went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits, two walks and a home run, striking out seven. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (5.40) came on in relief and threw three shutout innings, allowing no hits and striking out four. LHP Yoldin De La Paz (3.60) allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one in an inning of work.
