Pirates farm report for April 18, 2023: Matt Gorski belts grand slam in Curve win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 7-9) gave up two in the ninth to lose to Memphis (Cardinals), 5-4. RHP Yerry De Los Santos (0-2, 8.44) gave up back-to-back homers to Luken Baker and Oscar Mercado with one out. RHP Luis Ortiz (2.08) started and went five innings, allowing four hits and one walk with one strikeout. RHP Cody Bolton (2.89) pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. RF Cal Mitchell (.200) went 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. C Endy Rodriguez (.280) went 2 for 5. DH Miguel Andujar (.267) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 2B Aaron Schackelford (.214) went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 4-6) earned a 6-1 win over Bowie (Orioles). RF Matt Gorski (.200) went 1 for 3 with a grand slam and a walk. 3B Domingo Leyba (.333) was 2 for 4 with two singles and an RBI. C Henry Davis (.242) went 1 for 2 with an RBI single. RHP Kyle Nicolas (1-1, 5.79) tossed six innings, allowing one run on three hits, two walks and a home run with three strikeouts for his first win of the season. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.57) threw two shutout innings of relief, allowing no hits and striking out two.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 7-3) dropped a 7-6 decision to Greenville (Red Sox) in 10 innings. RF Jase Bowen (.324) and 1B Will Matthiessen (.280) each went 1 for 4 with a solo home run. 3B Mike Jarvis (.258) was 1 for 5 with a solo homer and two RBIs. 2B Maikol Escotto (.212) was 2 for 4 with a solo home run and an RBI single. RHP Eddy Yean (1-1, 1.42) allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and struck out one in the 10th to take the loss. RHP Po-Yu Chen (7.27) went five innings and allowed one run on three hits, walking two and striking out five. RHP Dante Mendoza (7.11) threw 1⅔ innings of relief and allowed three runs on two hits, walking two and fanning four.

RHP Carlos Lomeli (1-0, 0.00) picked up the win after tossing two shutout innings in relief, allowing no hits and striking out one. LHP Dominic Perachi (7.11) got the start and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in three innings. LHP Julian Bosnic (0.00) went 1⅓ innings and allowed one walk and struck out four for the save.
