The Pittsburgh Pirates will open the 2021 season against the Chicago Cubs at 2:20 p.m. April 1 at Wrigley Field and host the Cubs for the home opener at 1:35 p.m. April 8 at PNC Park.

The Pirates announced their revised game times for their 2021 season schedule Thursday, noting that evening games in April, May and September will start at 6:35 p.m. and Sunday games will start at 1:05 p.m. — both 30 minutes earlier than the last time PNC Park hosted fans.

After playing the 2020 60-game season without spectators, the Pirates also said that season ticket holders will be among the first fans welcomed back to the ballpark and receive priority when state regulations allow games open to the public during the covid-19 pandemic.

The Pirates have an early seven-game homestand, starting with the home opener against the Cubs, and conclude the 2021 season with a six-game homestand capped by a 3:05 p.m. Sunday start against the Cincinnati Reds on Oct. 3.
