Pine native Ty Voit signs with Maple Leafs

Sarnia Sting forward Ty Voit was a fifth-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in this year’s draft.

Forward Ty Voit, a native of Pine, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

According to PuckPedia, Voit’s deal is slated to begin during the 2021-22 season and will carry a salary cap hit of $835,000.

A fifth-round pick (No. 153 overall) in this year’s draft, Voit (5-foot-9, 151 pounds) is a product of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program.

Voit, 18, currently plays for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In 24 games this season, he has 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists).
