Phillies' Andrew McCutchen channels ‘70s vibe on retro night
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen may be nursing a torn ACL, but he’s still having fun in the dugout.
On Saturday night, the Phillies hosted a retro night at Citizens Bank Park that featured players wearing a version of the team’s maroon jersey from the 1970s.
The Phillies posted a video of McCutchen in the dugout rocking the throwback uniform, unbuttoned and accessorized with a large chain and sunglasses. The caption: “There’s cool, and then there’s @TheCUTCH22 in these throwbacks COOL.” He danced and joked in the clip.

The Phillies revived the one-and-done “Saturday Night Special” uniforms, worn for only one game in 1979, according to Uni-Watch.com. According to the site, the uniforms were so badly received by fans, that the team didn’t use them again.
The visiting Atlanta Braves also wore a 1970s uniform and went on to win 15-7.
McCutchen tore the ACL in his left knee in June and is out for the season.
