Penn State hockey gets first win, beats Michigan, 9-5
Forwards Bobby Hampton and Aarne Talvitie each scored two goals for Penn State’s men’s hockey team which recorded its first win of the 2020-21 season by defeating Michigan, 9-5, at home in the Pegula Ice Arena on Thursday.
The Nittany Lions (1-5-0) also got a goal and two assists from forward Jared Westcott while forwards Tim Doherty, Alex Limoges, Chase McLane and defenseman Jimmy Dowd Jr. each contributed a goal and an assist. Goaltender Oskar Autio made 23 saves on 28 shots to record the victory.
Penn State’s next game is at home Dec. 11 against Arizona State.
