In seven games this season, Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry has a 4-2-1 record

The Penguins are slated to start goaltender Tristan Jarry in Saturday’s home game against the Minnesota Wild at PPG Paints Arena.

In seven games this season, Jarry has a 4-2-1 record, a 2.12 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

On Thursday, Jarry made 36 saves on 38 shots in a 3-2 home overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Notes:

• Assistant coach Todd Reirden indicated forward Bryan Rust remains a “game-time decision” for Saturday’s contest.

Rust has not played since suffering an undisclosed injury on Oct. 14. He was activated from injured reserve on Saturday afternoon.

In two games this season, Rust has one goal.

During practice in Cranberry on Friday, Rust skated on the team’s top line as well as the top power-play unit.

• Defensemen Brian Dumoulin, Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel; forward Sidney Crosby; and head coach Mike Sullivan all remain in isolation after testing positive for covid-19 throughout the week. Reirden indicated they all remain status quo.

• Rust and Jarry were two of 13 players who participated in an optional morning skate on Saturday. They were joined forwards Teddy Blueger, Brian Boyle, Jeff Carter, Sam Lafferty and Dominik Simon; defensemen Taylor Fedun, Mark Friedman, P.O Joseph and Mike Matheson; and goaltender Casey DeSmith.

• The Wild are scheduled to start goaltender Cam Talbot. In eight games this season, he has an 6-2-0 record, a 2.72 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.

• Former Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski is slated to return to the Wild’s lineup after missing three games due to an undisclosed injury. In six games this season, he has three assists.

A second-round pick (No. 61 overall) of the Penguins in 2004, Goligoski spent parts of the first four seasons of his 15-year career in Pittsburgh and was a member of the 2009 Stanley Cup championship squad. Having also played for the Dallas Stars and Arizona Coyotes, Goligoski has appeared in 930 games during his career.

• The Wild, who joined the NHL in 2000, are one of three active NHL franchises the Penguins have never recorded a shutout against. The others are the Vegas Golden Knights — who joined the league in 2017 — and the Seattle Kraken, a first-year expansion franchise that the Penguins have yet to play.
