Penguins to start goaltender Tristan Jarry against Red Wings
The Penguins are slated to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Sunday’s home game against the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena.
His status was announced via a statement from the team.
In 51 games this season, Jarry has a 32-13-6 record, a 2.32 goals against average, a .921 save percentage and four shutouts.
This will only be the second time Jarry has played the Red Wings in his career. During a 4-1 home win on Jan. 13, 2018, Jarry made 29 saves on 30 shots.
Note:
• Ill Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin remains a “game-time decision” per the team’s statement. Malkin did not play in Friday’s 5-1 road loss to the New York Rangers and did not participate in Saturday’s practice in Cranberry.
The Red Wings are expected to start goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. In 48 games this season, Nedeljkovic has a 17-19-7 record, a 3.15 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and two shutouts.
